Third Annual Swim for Freedom ~ Lake Geneva, WI (8 miles)
All proceeds will go to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation
to support America’s Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special
Operations personnel and their families by providing full college
educations to surviving children of special operations personnel
killed in combat or training and by providing immediate financial
assistance to special operations personnel severely wounded in
combat.
A special thanks goes out to this year's swimmers who will
be supporting their late commrade and friend PFC Gunnar
Hotchkin. While on duty in Afghanistan, Gunnar was killed
by a roadside bomb on June 16, 2010. His story made headlines
in the Chicago area. He is survived by his wife and children as
well as family in Naperville.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides support and assistance
to the U. S. military’s special operations community, consisting
of Army Special Forces (Green Berets), the Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment,
the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Navy Small Boat
Teams, Navy SEALs, Air Force Combat Controllers, Air Force rotary
and fixed wing squadrons, and Marine Corps special operations personnel.
